#194 – From Rock Bottom to Country Rock: Zac Cross Band Lights It Up

/ Episodes / By

This week on Unfiltered & Undiscovered, we sit down with the hard-hitting, truth-slinging country rockers from Rockhampton — Zac Cross Band — fresh off the release of their powerhouse debut album, The Music Lives On.

Zac joins us to unpack the deeply personal journey behind the record — from heartbreak and a life reset, to the healing power of guitars, gravelly vocals, and a comment from Dad that kicked it all off. We talk about resilience, songwriting therapy, and carving a lane between Morgan Wallen and Metallica.

If you’re a sucker for honesty, distortion, and an album that punches from the gut, this one’s for you.

 🔥 What We Talk About:

    • The moment Zac hit rock bottom… and wrote his way out
Why Dear God became the cornerstone of the album
Creating country rock that owes as much to Linkin Park as Keith Urban
The story behind Country Got It Right and Who I Am
Life on the road, from Barcaldine to Gympie
Why this band might just redefine what Aussie country sounds like
